This 13th-century temple of unique and wonderful architecture stands on the 5400 meters tall mountain Doi Suthep mountain from where the visitors enjoy the spectacular view of the city. Those who visit the Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep temple can experience peace and tranquility which perhaps they may not get anywhere else. This temple was established by King Keu Naone in the year 1383 is enshrined with a piece of one Buddha’s shoulder. On the stairs of the temple, there are statues of the seven-headed serpent.

The Wat Chedi Luang temple is situated in the center of Chiang Mai city and here one can see the ruins of an ancient temple which is known as the Temple of the Big Stupa. The temple which was home for the very holy Emerald Buddha was seriously damaged in the year 1545 due to an earthquake. The temple was ruined by the Burmese who later captured Chiang Mai.

From the mountain, you get an exciting view of the city and the 13th century What Phrathat Doi Suthep temple, the white elephant shrine and a replica of Emerald Buddha are situated on this mountain.

The Huay Keaw Waterfall is situated close to the city and is also at the foot of Doi Pui Mountain Range National Park. This place is free to enter and is beautiful as well as awe-inspiring. The tourists spend here either the whole day or an afternoon. The waterfall is highly impressive during and after the rainy season. This Waterfall is known for its natural beauty and here there are a lot of trees, rocks, birds and small animals. The place is very colorful and has the aroma of flowers and incense.


9. Soak Up The Beauty Of Wat Sri Suphan

Wat Sri Suphan is known as the silver temple. The temple was founded in the year 1501 during the period of King Mengrai. The temple was renovated and redesigned many times. The last renovation was carried out in the year 2004 under the direction of Phra Kru Phithatsuthikhun, the abbot. The renovation work was carried out by the local silversmiths and as a result, it became a silver-colored temple. The temple shimmers in the sunlight and has intricate details.

10. Experience Chiang Mai Weekend Walking Street Market

The Sunday Weekend Walking Street is the most popular shopping place in Chiang Mai. Shopping here on Sunday is among the most enjoyable things to do in Chiang Mai. Here one can shop for a wide variety of art, crafts, music, and food. The Sunday Walking Street is also the venue for various events like dance recitals and beauty pageants. The timing of the Weekend Walking Street Market is every Sunday from 4 pm to midnight.
